Reflections on the First Draft of the CBD-Post2020 Global Biodiversity Framework at OEWG-3

The Open-Ended Working Group-3 will is tasked with advancing preparations for the development of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework and it will be held virtually from 23 August to 3 September 2021. This process is expected to lead to the adoption of a post-2020 global biodiversity framework at the UN Biodiversity Conference later this year, in Kunming, China. 

The Convention on Biological Diversity’s Bureau of the Conference of the Parties in consultation with the Government of Colombia, as host of the WG2020-3, decided to convene the meeting virtually. This is an exceptional measure due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
