Community Participatory Mapping: Illustrated Infographic

Community power in action in Cameroon!
Participatory mapping is a valuable tool used to enable local and indigenous communities to represent boundaries, land use types, and resources of their territory. The objective is to represent areas of common interest for development through reforestation.
In Londji, Cameroon, both women and men participated in creating their own maps to compare and combine group maps to validate a final map with guidance from REFACOF, Women4Biodiversity’s restoration site partner in Cameroon.
This poster, created by Deepika Nandan of Women4Biodiversity, celebrates the Londji community’s collaborative spirit in saving their natural resources. It is meant to be used at the community level in Londji.
Please share this poster to amplify women’s stories in conservation because #genderisabiodiversityissue.
