From 9 to 11 July 2025, representatives from Indonesia, Lao PDR, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand convened in Bogor, Indonesia, for a three-day knowledge exchange forum dedicated to peer-to-peer learning and regional collaboration.

The forum aimed to advance the implementation of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPS) to conserve Southeast Asia’s rich ecosystems and achieve the 23 global biodiversity targets under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF).

Our Founder and director, Mrinalini Rai, was proud to be part of this exchange and especially honoured to support Ms Nimala Souksone, who represented the Lao Women’s Union and is also the Gender Focal Point for Laos, to bring a gender lens to biodiversity planning discussions.

Organised by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Global Project on GBF Implementation, under the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership, the event fostered meaningful dialogue, practical exchanges, and cross-country learning.

The forum concluded with a shared commitment to accelerate NBSAP implementation and strengthen regional solidarity, united in the mission to protect biodiversity for generations to come.
